Protecting my idea for an event

If i have an Idea for an event and want to tell potential sponsors, what precautions should i take so they don't steal my idea and do the event themselves?

Thanks, i think that's the only way to go really, but being able to get them interested enough to sign the NDA is going to be difficult.

Yeah, from what i've read on intellectual property it won't be really covered, so if someone does steal it, best keep all correspondance on file and winge about it a lot when they are successful with it
