Hello Guys,

I got a MBPr recently, and will be going to uni for some mature studying.. Ideally want to use it for note taking. What is the best most protective case for it? I got one of those incase furry things for £26 from the store but its not very tight and doesn't feel secure. I saw another thinner one, but it looks quite pricey.

What are you guys using? Also very tempted by the Incase Icon Back Pack for carrying it outside of the house, however I am new to all this and not sure of the proper options out there.

Thanks in advance guys :D

I've read cases are mostly useless, don't add a huge amount and if anything gets inside the case e.g grit it will lead to scratches. Instead I would advise using a sleeve to carry it around and just looking after it in general. I take my 13" rMBP to work ever single day and never had a single scratch/dent.

Thanks guys, apologies for not being clear!

When I meant case, I did mean a slip case. The incase Icon is my favourite at the moment. Though having had a look at macrumours there are loads of lovely leathery ones..

I use a Be.eZ LA Robe for mine, they're custom fitted to the laptop and are a memory foam sort of material, so a very nice fit and feels well protected

Please don't get a clip on case, I've seen many MB/Ps that's had them on and have had issues.

The case on the screen adds weight to the screen and loosen the hinges. The case at the bottom can cause overheating. The laptop itself needs the case to be expose for cooling reasons.

In general the case of a MBP looks after itself if the owner isn't clumsy, those body gloves type cases are great for carrying the mbp around thou, just zip it up and throw it into any normal rug sack or bag and it will stop people knowing you have a laptop when walking the streets.
