Protein for a vegetarian

cheer up my le rat! :) vegetarians can be happy too!

Oh absolutely. Don't get me wrong I know a few veggies that are more than happy but for me it's my idea of hell! Shakes and supps are exactly aimed at people who can't get all their nutrition from food so the OP is a perfect candidate for shakes in this instance.

Hi Sukh,

I a originate from India too, get some boiled Mung Beans in you, 100gms is;

Nutritional value per 100 g (3.5 oz)
Energy 1,452 kJ (347 kcal)
Carbohydrates 62.62 g
Sugars 6.60 g
Dietary fiber 16.3 g
Fat 1.15 g
Protein 23.86 g

The carbs are slow release so you can have it without much worry. Urid dal has the same profile too I think. Nuts are high in the old protein too but obviously offset by the fat content. I find mung beans really filling and it doesn't cause much gas issues like some beans. It doesn't taste too bad either.

mung beans? yuck! lol - see that the problem high protein yes
but even higher carbohydrates - typical for lacto-ovo vegetarians
