hey gents

im going to be away from office all of next week

im not sure the new place I am going to has a :

* fridge,
* can opener,
* sort of kitchen facility. (more canteen)

normally in the office I put my food in the fridge like chicken or turkey and I have cans of tuna, pink salmon etc which I can open in the kitchen facility.

so I was thinking for the whole week I could do the mega sandwich thing
but like normally I put my chicken breast slice sandwich in the fridge

will it be okay to consume +6 hours after taking them out from the fridge?

anyone got good ideas for a protein sandwich or other protein ideas where it doesn't need to be in the fridge?

thoughts welcome thanks!! :)

Absolutely fine :) I've had chicken out of the fridge for 12+ hours if I'm travelling, and it's been fine

cool

I don't think I'd want to eat chicken breast cold though!

so that's why I am going for the sandwich option cuz I got nothing else to play with atm! :)

Yeah it'll be fine. My sandwiches normally sit out all day and they've never made me ill :)

Alternatives: corned beef tins have a key to open them. There's also an array of hams, Spam and Celebrity Bacon Grill that comes in tins with ring pull tops. You've also got Nutella and peanut butter which is epic on thick granary bread.

It's not what I'd call a "bodybuilding essential" supplement / part of a diet... no! ;) :D

Going back to your original question, most cooked meats will be fine even if left out. Just try and keep it out of the sun or too hot (not that it'll make it go bad, it might just adversely affect the flavour).

If you have the ability to go out for lunch you can always go and get a chicken from somewhere! :D

I'd make stuff at home.

So make a chilli/tomatoey type of meal using either lamb/beef/turkey/pork mince etc.... with some couscous or pasta or whatever accompaniment you're interested in. Or jacket potato.

You cna make a tuna mayo, egg mayo and put it in a tuppaware container and then eat that as a snack.

Mixed nuts are a good snack lots of calories, low carbs and high in protein.

thanks got the nuts angle covered well huge bag :)

also going to take some oat cakes as well

just need to work on lunch. tuna is an option imo tuna mayo sweet corn sandwich
might be a good idea

not so sure on the whole cold meat thing in a box though
lol needs to be warm! :)

Can't think of much else. I'm happy eating things like cooked chicken, chilli etc cold so it's easy for me. If you say you won't eat it unless it's warm it limits your choices.

I'm not entirely sure on the implications you see

I was told a while ago to reheat meat and not eat that cold once it has cooled down is that right or not?

Seriously don't worry. I've spent years cooking my meals at weekends, and sticking them in a load of tupperware boxes in the fridge... i'll grab one on the way out in the morning. If i have a microwave i'll nuke it, if not i'll have it cold, either way it's never done me any damage. I know lots of people who do the same.
