Proton Persona, Broken boot latch

The boot opening latch under the drivers seat doesnt work.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Im driving one of these and its almost impossible to get parts!

Hate to say it but maxpower forums use to have a proton subforum with quite a few people on, maybe still has.

is the boot latch to the right side with the petrol cap one?

If so a Evo 1 - 3 one from mitsi dealers/breakers might be worth a try.

if the cable is snapped try and trace it back a bit and give the wire a tug
