Been playing this for the last 24 hours roughly (not straight) and well, I'm not that impressed.

4 combat styles all with 3 button combo's XXX, XYX, XYY etc.........Not very intuitive.

The missions always always seem to be go to Hive/Base consume or kill x mob or mobs either melee or in vehicle.

The side missions are more of a e-peen "wow you did that really fast gold medal!!"

Destroying the Hives/Bases (which all look the same regardless of location on the map) has very very little effect on the game, if anything at all.

The story is pretty shallow, i really don't care about the main character or what's going on to the city, considering the people walking around the city all the look the same and only have 4 different types of npc.

The free running was cool to start, until i realised no matter how fast you try and go, everything is faster then you.

Overall so far, completely not impressed and would rate it around 3-4/10. Glad i only rented it.

I've played through the game over 3 times already, I know what I'm talking about :p

Fully upgraded nothing can keep up with you, I assume you're double air dashing etc?

Yup, if I'm doing one of the tedious hive missions and (before mega armour and big sword upgrade) I'd run away from the hunters to get distance, but as soon as i turn around, there all on me. That would imply there either the same speed or faster.

THIS GAME IS THE MOST STUPIDEST PILE OF CRAP I'VE EVER PLAYED

Its nearly impossible to kill that stupid bloody Super mega hunter, i spent an entire 30mins running around doing SOD all because you cant even touch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the point of making a boss if you can do **** all to it!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I've literally just given up with it this minute. Got too frustrating way too quickly, and it didn't seem that great anyway.

The concept of 'buying' upgrades annoyed me too, I wish more games would just use a simple level up system like Crackdown.

I think the concept of buying your upgrades was more of an after thought.

If you didn't have to buy them, the side missions would be completely pointless if there not already. So I'm guessing they split it up like this to make the side missions and to fill out the game.

True, but would you rather remember XBAYYYBAYXYYA combo ala Dead or Alive, as someone who HATES combo typea games, I don't think it's 'that' bad.

True, but i'd prefer abit of varity, maybe something like melee punch, swing blade or claws and melee kick? Like XYB or something, varity is good.

Not at all, you've not played it long enough. I've just done one mission in a helicopter where I had to pick up and drop off marines, protect them, etc, etc, was quite good.

I've just done that same mission right now, fair enough that was different, but i bet you over 60% of the missions are what i stated.

Is that a problem? You get more EP, more EP = better upgrades.

See previous comments, the upgrades shouldnt be there.

Hives are Red, Bases are Blue, you couldn't get much different. Hives are covered in bloody stuff (it's like red and sticky) and the bases are covered in radar detectors, sam sites and lots of things that go pew pew pew instead of rawr rawr rawr.

You dont understand what i'm saying, not how they look on the map etc, how they look in game. They look exactly the same.

'almost' agree. It's not a GREAT game, but it's a fun game I think. Certainly challenging at times but not overly difficult unless you're an achievement whore and want the "finish game with less than 10 consumes", "finish without dying" etc.

The fun for me stopped when the game got so frustrating i nearly threw my controller out the window, it never told me how to use devestator attacks, how one minute i'm slashing infected apart with my claws, then the next minute some super guy comes along and they do sod all damage.

I found it to be very fun. Very shallow, but very fun. As long as you keep moving, the bosses are relatively easy to do, except the last one which was an utter biatch. The story was a bit crap though, have to admit. The cutscenes were so short it was almost one lining, and Dana did look a bit like a man, but apart from that, it's good mindless fun! I don't understand why people are knocking it so much.

Well I've died over 100 times easy, I've become so frustrated with the game that I've nearly completely destroyed my console just to spite the ****ing game.

When i finish it, because i'm determined to get my money out of this steaming pile of crap, i'm going to buy it off the rental shop and then nuke it from orbit.

It is the worst game i've ever played.

Seriously these homing missiles are completely retarded, if you get 2 rocket guys on top of a skyscraper you cant see, then 2 helicopters after you, you can forgot about doing the superman thing.

> Defend the North/South/East/West perimeter

To put all of this simply, just stay inside of your tank and kill all of the
Hunters that will try to destory the Bloodtox pumper. Use the tank so the
military won't come after you. There will be lots of Hunters so keep your eyes
open. After a while you will come accross some Hydras, but I only counted two.
After you kill them all you will hear someone say to wait around for new orders.

So apparently you need a tank..........There is none, so i have to kill these stupidly large super hunters with machines guns...........................................................................................................

Hmmm Zero Punctuation seemed to give it some decent comments, maybe i'm over judging it.

Nah, its still crap.

Oh and the review of this game by Yahtzee is up now.
