Provider with 'best' data plans/packages?

I need a provider with decent data package and signal, I'm currently with giffgaff and its not too reliable... I use my phone as GPS and its no fun when it cuts out in the middle of a journey.

I don't really need minutes that much 200 is plenty and I don't text that much. 5gb should be enough, I think...

It would be great if it was pay as you go, but don't mind a contract if it gives me a greater deal/saving.

I heard some horror stories some time ago about 3, is that still the case? To me minutes and texts aren't as important as the data, GiffGaff is terrible...

I mainly use Waze as the voice instructions are quick and in time, even my dad ditched his sat nav and uses waze on his S3.

Edit:

Just doing some quick googling and found some articles...

Edit:

I'll give Three a go and see what they're like, the difference on test is not that big compared to EE. But the price difference is noticeable. Three is not limiting the data like giffgaff and o2 do?

The difference between 3 and EE seems marginal around my area, EE seems very expensive but apparently its the No.1 in the UK. O2 is really low compared to vodafone even.... :o

Waze is really quick with the calculations, traffic info and I see quite a lot of wazers around my area. :)

Waze is good for re-routing when there is traffic, and it also shows you safety cameras. But on my Windows phone, which I know you love :D Here Drive + is superior in all other respects in my view.

We did a 200 mile run in 1 day (next day after passing my CBT :p), me and my mate. He used Nokia Drive + on his Lumia 1020, we got lost around 10 times. He then got fed up and used his HTC ONE M7 with Waze and we only missed 1 exit on a bigger roundabout which was a bit dodgy, but Waze quickly re-routed us without too much hassle.

I tested lots of GPS Apps before, so has my dad and we both settled on Waze in the UK and I'm still searching for a GPS which works well in offline mode.

Edit:

Nokia maps was showing a roundabout which didn't exist :p

Wouldn't be surprised if the navigation in Google maps starts to become a little like waze now google own them. Could be the other way round though :)
So Google bought out Waze, I swear they buy out every community ran company... So, will Google maps now have the same functions as Waze or at least the additional information from Waze users about different hazards on the road?

I've been looking at moving from Three to another network because despite having a full or nearly-full signal most of the time where I live, the internet speeds are utterly abysmal lately and their customer services are useless. Unfortunately it seems they share a mast with EE because I got an EE PAYG SIM to try and I'm getting the same crap speeds.

I hate mobile networks.

From my research I've found out that Scotland is suffering the most when it comes to network coverage and signal strength. I'm quite lucky as I live near London, so my signal is strong, I'll give 3 a go. Picking up a sim tomorrow, today the weather was terrible... :(

Edit:

Surely no one can beat my giffgaff indoor speeds :p

My house is surrounded by trees and even people with EE had problems with signal, but I did a quick test and I can get 4G indors. :D

The guy at 3 said that soon they might charge more for this £15 PAYG Plan or decrease data to 1-2GB :/ I'll probably move to EE if this happens.

My contract is coming to an end next month, been with 3 on an AYCE data, 600 minutes contract.

Thinking of going giffgaff 3G goodybags, they seem to be the best choice in terms of package, or go for the 17 a month sim only from three with AYCE + 200 minutes... but kinda seems expensive...

O2 (most of my family is on this network) and Giff Gaff have been terrific... I'll never go back to O2, 3 is a like a breeze of fresh air in the morning. EE is probably good as well, but I get 12mbs+ from 3 and unlimited DATA is awesome as I use spotify and Waze/Google Maps most of the time.

I'll try and knock them to 15 a month for the AYCE+200mins, if they do that I'll probably grab it.

Don't wanna spend much more than 15...

I finally have signal indoors and even if I don't I can call using WiFi. How good is that? :D I had 4G most of the time today, sometimes it dropped to 3G. My phone is broken though, it had signal issues from the beginning (I tried many different ROM's and mobile networks.)

So on monday that's going in for a swap out, hopefully they'll have Nexus 5 in stock... probably not :(

BTW I'm really curios how EE compares to 3 even though I don't really feel the need to try as 3 is great so far.

I'm on the £15 PAYG with 3 that has unlimited Data. Its been fantastic so far, 4G outdoors 98% of the time. I can't believe I was with o2 for so long...

My dad wants to upgrade and is thinking of changing the network, not sure if I should recommend him 3 or EE...
