Proving a C2D > a A64 X2

Christs sake, bugger me, stuff like that, strong stuff like that, no 'bad' swear words :)

Unless the Admins are extremely religious I don't see why christ sake would remotely offend anyone, and bugger me, lol, I don't even need to explain why that word isn't bad.

Oh well, it's their forum, they can do what they want.

do a search on her/his name and 'ati'. some of the stuff is....

Seems like this is the average setup for Comparing Conroe to AMD

AMD:
Athlon 64 FX-60 @ 2.8GHz
1GB DDR400 (512MBx2) RAM w/ 2-2-2 / 1T Timings
DFI LANPARTY UT RDX200 (RD480)
Radeon X1900XTX CrossFire
ATI Cat. 6.2 Drivers

Intel:
Conroe @ 2.66GHz
1GB DDR2667 (512MBx2) w/ 4-4-4-15 Timings
Intel DX975XBX motherboard (975X Express)
Radeon X1900XTX CrossFire
Intel INF 7.2.2.1006
ATI Cat. 6.2 Drivers (Modified to support Conroe)

Hmmmm seems to me like the system with faster RAM would boviously have a higher benchmark (4-4-4-15 to 2-2-2-1T).... Oh and ignore the (modified for Conroe) on the drivers, modifying stuff never gives you an edge over anything

Oh and ignore the fact that they didnt test AMDs dual core stuff that is being dveeloped instead testing there already released chip..... AMD has innovation too. http://www.amd.com/us-en/0,,3715_142...14218,00.html/

never mind ones running ddrI and the other DDRII........

For video editing, you will want as fast as a video card as you can get. Like I said I love my 3800 X2 both for running Premiere and Oblivion

ORLY

Is that person completely bloody stupid?

Can he she not read and see the evidence provided? There is no comparison C2D is miles better at the moment. Surely no-one can be that blindly devoted to something.

Then again they did re-elect George Bush!!

Thats one of the funniest threads i've ever had the pleasure of reading (do more reading than posting) and have added it to my favourites in the hope he/she posts back in reply.

Truely made my day, needed a good laugh lol.

Awww you guys! I kinda feel sorry for Titanania, your like a pack of hunting dogs man! :p

I think you have explained enough for anyone else reading that thread, if you keep on Titanania's head may explode

Funny thread though, time to move on :)

This post has made me not only post here for the first time (have been reading about here for a while but never posted) however I even went out my way to run a benchmark and post a screen shot to prove that the Core 2 Duo is the better CPU at present as I have the same cooler as the AMD screen shot that was posted earlier. I don't see a reply coming from titanania though !

That's comedy gold!

FSB is a factor because it the measure of RAM/CPU interaction. Therefore, the faster the FSB, the faster the process cycles between the RAM and the CPU are handled. AMD is TWICE as fast.

:D

I'm more geeky than is healthy myself, but how anybody can get so fanboyish over a piece of silicon churned out by a multinational is totally beyond me...

lol go to all the trouble buying 3800+ (which are NOT bad processors), 2Gb of fancy corsair memory THEN go and buy an X1600Pro
