I have just ordered an iPhone4 but was wondering how big the Proximity Sensor problem is. I have used the web long enough to know you find posts about everything regardless of whats right or wrong, but a thread with over 300 pages (!) on apple regarding the problem kind of suggests there is an issue.

Proximity Problem covered on apple.com

Have you guys experienced the problem?

I think my 4G has this issue, if I hold the phone with my shoulder to my ear if I'm doing something at home it makes calls, mutes calls, add people to the call and hangs the call up (full signal stregth at time)..........

Its becoming a real pain, apparently (not read too much on it) it's a software fix that is needed but I'm not sure.... If it's not fixed with a patch soon I'm going to get my handset swapped out

Yes I have heard a lot of people confirm this issue.. It is strange the antennagate became such a big thing, when I think this is more of an issue.

I have cancelled my order for now - I would like to see if this can be resolved with a software update (apperently it is not fixed in the upcoming 4.1 (beta)).. Im quite happy with my 3GS anyway, so my wife will just have to wait a bit longer until she can inherit it. :)
