I use a super hub 3 in modem mode with an ASUS router. My mum has been working from home on the computer and it’s all been working fine.

Hiwever, in the last week, we have had constant and daily dropouts lasting quite a while and when we reboot the equipment it’s working again. However, today it completely stopped and wouldn’t connect again.

Every time there was dropouts and I did the troubleshooter, it said it could not automatically detect proxy settings, and I don’t know why this has suddenly started after a long time of working fine.

This may be stupid, but is there any chance remote working and logging into other companies networks can affect my own proxy settings?

I tried calling virgin, but they were about as useful as an ash tray on a motorbike

First thing I'd do is put the Virgin hub back into router mode and try it without the Asus. If there's a still a problem get back onto Virgin.

The proxy problem is most likely a side effect and not the cause.
Thanks, already done that and it’s working fine. Phoned virgin, but they have told me to phone ASUS, who hold me to phone Virgin! None of the companies are interested in actually helping it seems.
