The PS3 can, it depends on the model but most of them have universal power supplies. Most consoles do as it makes no sense having multiple versions of consoles with differing power supplies for different territories.

don't forget to add sales tax if you buy from US, shipping, you may also need to pay HM customs ;) + an adapter for voltage

in the end I am not sure it makes financial sense

also not sure if PS4 is region locked, warranty will be US only

The Xbox power bricks are designed for the voltage of the country/region they're sold in, and so are PS3 consoles. They'd say on the back if they accepted 120-240v, but everything I've seen so far is either 120v or 220-240v.

No they can't - they have no real influence over the duty and VAT charged by UK customs.

pedant

If they bring it back and dont declare its very very very unlikely they will get pulled, unless they look like drug smugglers. Due to the cuts I've rarely seen a customs officer even at the green lane last few times ive come back from the US.

Its defo not worth it due to the warranty

I doubt the PS4 will be region locked Manufacturers aren't supposed to cut back on features (Don't mention the lynix incident though please!).

that is true they may not get caught at the border, but it's still a risk. anyway they still have to add US sales tax, listed prices in US never include sales tax AFAIK

Can't speak for the Xbox but PS2 and PS3 have universal power supplies despite what the label on the back might say.

Would be very surprised if PS4 was different.

Im not so sure about the current gen consoles having multi voltage capabilities. I may be wrong but I thought you needed a step down transformer to power US devices in the UK. Maybe it was only the older consoles like PS1 and PS2 but I thought it was still the case. Google would prob have the answer.

Anyway, has Sony confirmed the games are not going to be region locked? If not then I wouldnt do it cos you may end up with a US region console and have to import games.

Ahh, I see that you don't understand what a discussion forum is.

Good job getting help with an attitude like that.
