Hi,

Does anyone use there PS Portal with there mobile phone hotspot to play ?

The PS Portal at home on the WiFi is fine.

My idea what to take it to work and game on break etc.

No WiFi at work so it's connected to my Pixel 6 and EE network via hotspot.

It all connects and loads up to my ps5 at home but the resolution is poor and the gameplay abit laggy.

My speed test results on the phone are 114mb download and 1.67mb upload and ideal ping 24. That's on 4G connection.

Am I asking to much from the connection for gaming ?

Is there a better network than EE for hot spotting to my portal?

Thanks Ben

It's certainly possible to do it via mobile hotspot, but how well it works is going to come down to your specific connections.

It needs low latency throughput of at least 5Mbit/s for the lowest quality, and up to 15Mbit/s for the highest quality. You're going to be using ~5-7GB of bandwidth per hour of play. So both your mobile connection and your home connection need to be able to sustain that.

I don't know if the Portal gives you the option, but limiting the streams frame rate to 30 FPS will help if it's struggling.
