Anyone think a third party is likely to ever do this or even a 360 style controller for the PS3?

I'm just thinking that obviousley people have their preferences for a console and their preferences for a controller but they are not always part of the same package.

I can get my Logitech PS style controller to work on the PS3 no problems, I still havent tried it on the 360, but even if it did work I would prefer to have wireless rather than connect via usb!

Maybe a third party should try and come up with a hybrid of the two controllers taking the best elements of both and squeezing them into one all rounder.

out of curiosity, whats a good element of the PS controller that the 360 controller doesnt have?

difficult to put my finger on it but the 360 controller feels awkward to me. If there was a PS style controller out for the 360 I would buy one tomorrow.

i think the 360 controller is one of the comfiest out there to use. although people do have their preferances. i dont think a hybrid will be made though. it would overload it with buttons?

Probably because you are used to the PS style controller and you've just recently bought your own 360 am I correct?

I had a PS1+2 for years before I even touched another console, but after using my xbox for 18 months and my 360 for almost a year I cannot stand the PS2 controller anymore its just too small and very uncomfortable to me. i tried playing through God of War again yesterday and I just couldn't play for more the 5 mins because the controller was irritating me too much.

But in answer to your question I doubt anyone would bring out a PS style controller for the 360 and the same goes for a 360 style controller for the PS3. Although Im probably wrong it might cause trouble with both sony and microsoft too with patents, royalties etc.

But the 360 controller has exactly the same number of buttons and very similar positioning to the PS3's. It could be done.

I personally find the PS controller the most comfy, but as you say it's all down to preference.

PS controller is a terrible design :(

Give the 360 controller more time and you'll get used to it and maybe even prefer it :)

I still play on the PS/2 sometimes and it's just horrible using that controller.

sorry how is this thread in any way fanboy related? Both the 360 and PS3 have very well designed controllers imo but it stands to reason that people will prefer one over the other and that it's down to personal preference!

I openly admit that I prefer the PS3 just because I am so used to using a PS style controller, but the problem is that I now have both consoles so switching between the two I always will prefer one. If I got a 360 and didn't have a PS3 then I wouldn't be bothered as I would just have to get used to it.

The best controller in the world was the N64 then the dreamcast came along and that was pretty nice too, but the 360 controller in the most comfortable I have ever used. The Playstation controller always made my thumbs go numb... hated it.
