Ok i have to take this image,
print.jpg

and highlight the finger print, so basically overlaying or colouring in the lighter parts.
But its easier said than done.
Anyone guide me in the right direction, im good with ps if i know how best to achieve it.

thanks

Ok, here goes:

Open the image

Ctrl + I

Ctrl + Shift + U

Image > Adjustments > Levels ( move the arrows under the graph to control the light/dark intensity)

If the result is either too light or dark for your liking after that:

Image > Adjustments > Brightness and contrast. (up the contrast a bit and either lighten or darken)

I can post my result if you're interested.

ok, tried this and it does kinda work, but what im more specifically looking for is the original image with black lines in the finger print bits. I tried overlaying the pictures and blending them, but it doesnt give a great effect.

Thanks mind. gives me something to work from

I'd suggest setting it to B&W (CTRL+Shift+U as suggested by Dup) and then playing around with the brightness/contrast/lighting levels. I can post my results if you want.
