PS2 on a monitor?

I am sure this is possible but I can't seem to find any information about it.

I have a PS2 in my room but no TV, I do however have a monitor which has VGA/DVI input. I heard they are called modularisers or something along those lines which change the signal frequency and allow it to be output on a monitor?

Help here would be appreciated as both screen and PS2 are getting dusty

I figured it would look bad, but then i'm not playing at point blank range. Hoping it will be ok I know its not exactly a 360.
