What's out there?
I was just idly browsing through some older games and came across Dino Crisis 2, Driver and Nightfire, all of which which I had no idea they had ported to PC, XIII which in hindsight I knew was released on PC but only ever owned it on PS2, and a few other pretty decent games I used to play "back in the day". So, if anyone can recommend some games that were fairly popular on the PS2, or even Xbox and Gamecube or maybe PS1, that were either ported to PC or also released on it but maybe weren't as well known, please post them up :)
The best part is, the games above were 25p-£1.50, so I just got 10 games for just over £10.

XIII was a brilliant game!

I have Prisoner of War which I remember liking a lot on both ps2 and PC. And don't forget the likes of GTA III VC and SA. Max Payne 2 is incredible on PC too. Not sure how it played on PS2. Lastly off the top of myhead is Mafia, was absolute tripe on a bike on PS2 but incredibe on PC.

That is what is out there.

Though this is likely not the most relevant answer to this, but it's there anyway.

Thanks, should've mentioned I'm aware of emulators and have used that one specifically, but I was hoping for actual PC games.

Ah, can't forget the GTA games, I already have the complete pack :) I have the Max Payne pack too, haven't played that yet but also never owned it on PS2. I have Mafia on PC as well, at least I think I do, fairly sure I picked it up on a Steam offer at some point. I'll have a look at Prisoner of War, thanks :)

The port thing confuses matters as porting typically doesn't exist. It's just PC versions of multi platform games from the PS2 days.

XIII was a great game. Oni was really good too.

Perhaps I should've worded it better, ports or multi platform games are both fine.
I know of or own a fair few of the more popular multi platform games, I guess what I'm after are games from the PS2 era, which are available on PC but may not be as well known as on the consoles. Maybe it's just my perspective on things, I just had no idea Driver and Dino Crisis for example also came out on PC.

Why limit yourself to multi-platform games though - I'd suggest just looking for good games from that era regardless of whether there was a console version :)

Obvious options excluding ones already mentioned that meet your criteria would include Need for Speed series, Colin McRae series, Red Faction and Fahrenheit (kinda like Heavy Rain).

The main reason I mentioned it was because I was a lot more into console gaming than PC gaming back then, so I'm more looking for games that I might have played and loved, but forgotten about in the 10 or so years since. Any games from that era are welcome suggestions too, though!
Red Faction was good, I have that :) never played Colin Mcrae so I'll have to pick that up...Need for Speed, too, I've played it but not extensively so I'll look at those too, thanks!

Resident Evil 4 is superb on PC you need to download the mods but it looks & plays a lot better than the PS2 version as does Devil May Cry 3. You can buy both legally online for a few £ nowadays.

Search my post history I posted some great 1080P RE4 sceenshots about 4 years ago ;)

I feel like I missed out on the RE series as I only ever played a little of the original, so that's going on the list. Never played DMC either despite one of my mates being very much into it.
SOme great suggestions here :)

I've had some right dodgy issues with Resident Evil 4, it crashes for me as you enter the castle, the second I put that big dudes eye in the scanner I get a windows crash. Happened on my old PC, this one and on my laptop too, across XP/Vista/Windows 7. :(

Simpsons hit and run was a fantastic game on the pc.

All i can think of when owning both. Summoner would be another, but i never had the ps2 version, thus the sequel being ps2 only.

Naturally if only the pc saw more of the amazing ps2 line up, as much as i look forward to the ps4's ability to stream ps2 games on demand, i doubt they'll get the graphical make over that pc ports would have shown.

Worked flawlessly for me on XP/Vista/Windows 7 never had any crashes anywhere its rock solid stable on Nvidia GPU's + Core i7 with the original UK retail DVD version + nodvd patch + loads of mods must be your GPU or something else causing this.

How about Metal Gear Solid 2? Series was very popular on PS but it was relatively unknown on PC. Can't comment on the quality of the game/port as I've never played it myself.

Had no idea Simpsons hit & run came out on PC, that was an awesome game! Totally wasn't worth full price (which is what I sadly paid for it) but for a few £ I'll be all over that :D Summoner I have never tried, looked interesting though.

Never played any MGS games, I sound like a heretic here for not having played some of the most successful PS2 games heh. WIll check them out.

This is great guys, thanks for all the suggestions so far. I was kind of expecting the thread to die a death but it's going great!
