With the closing in of the PS3 do you think the PS2 will have a life?

Will they still make games for the PS2?

This will help in my desicion to buy a slimline soon.

Thanks Luke

Definetly, With the PS3 being so expensive i doubt many casual gamers will get it for quite a while, the PS2 will still be going strong for quite some time.

Theres no way Sony will instantly drop the PS2, its still the best selling games console. IIRC they said that they want to make it last up to 10 years, so should have a couple more years worth of good games yet. Of course there won't be any massivly successful titles anymore, but still some good ones. No doubt GTA: Vice City Stories will be heading to PS2 eventually, maybe even a GTA: San Andreas Stories.
You can always replay old games aswell, or play the ones you missed.

The main factors that made the Xbox price and sales plumet were the size of the console and the fact that Microsoft are still losing money on every Xbox they sell. And of course Xbox 360 being released.
The PS2 has the advantage of being very small and still being very much supported by Sony and game developers/publishers. Also Sony are making plenty of money from it since its so cheap to produce now.
