PS2 & widescreen

Hi guys,

I am thinking about picking up a cheap ps2 and was wondering if someone can tell me if it will display ok on my HDTV which is 1360x768 resolution (16:9)?

I know it will connect via AV cable but didnt wanna have a "boxed" picture.

Depends on the game. Some games are widescreen, some aren't.

Gran Turismo 4 and Tourist Trophy?

I believe Gran Turismo 4 is a widescreen title, so if that's the case TT will be.
If it's your first PS2 then please, for the sake of humanity, buy God of War. It's one of the best games ever .

My projector is widescreen, and GT4 looks spot on with it.

The image will look rough tbh, PS2 displays standard definition which HD/TFT tellys don't do well. You may get a slight improvement via a component lead, but not much. For older consoles it better to stick with CRT TV's
