I thought I could connect a PS2 to Virgin Cable STB on the spare scart but no life at all. I have one scart on back of TV whichn was user for PS" before STB was installed. Do I have to buy a scart switcher / block or am I doing something wrong.

Tried that still don't work. Also tried to change STB settings RGB - Composite. That doesnt help either BTW what is the PS2 composite or RGB.
Any other ideas please?

The cable that comes with the PS2 is composite into a SCART adapter, so it's composite. I use an RGB SCART cable for my PS2 and that works fine plugged into the back of my Virgin Cable box. You can pick up RGB SCART cables off auction sites for around a fiver.

Thanks I plugged the 3 RCA's into the side of the TV (I assume that is a composite Input) and it works fine. Will there be limitations doing it that way?

Depends on your TV. I always plug my gamecube into those ports, but on my TV (Toshiba 32WLT66) they override the component inputs so when I switch my 360 on I need to unplug the gamecube cables to get a picture.

Nope that's absolutely fine. There's no difference between using the composite via RCA and the composite via SCART.
