Will you buy any of the following?

I've played the 360 and I do like it, looks best on an HD TV and a big one though. The price isn't to bad for the hardware you are getting, games prices are a disgrace though.

The PS3, I always had Playstation, 1 and 2. I was gonna get the PS3 but when I heard of the price (£420) that is a rip off by far, its no doubt the Blue Ray drive that boosts it up. The games will be around the same price as the 360's games or more. And I've heard rumors, not sure if they are true. Rumors that when you put your game in the PS3 it registers its serial code from the disc and binds it to your PS3, so you can't borrow and rent games. Guess its because Sony are making a loss on every PS3 they sell but they need the games to make the profit.

WII is cheap £180 im pretty sure. But WII is good and all, but it doesn't have my selection of games, it has Mario and all the cartoon games as gamecube did. Im more into GTA etc.

So overall I don't think I'd buy a PS3 or WII. Maybe a 360 when it lowers by the time PS3 comes out in March, but maybe your best sticking with the PC? Upgrading can cost a lot but I don't think you can upgrade the next gen consoles. And games for the PC are like £20-£25 new on the net. And I think most people agree with me when I say FPS games are better on the PC.

Had a Xbox 360 since a month after launch.

Will get a Wii either on launch or a few months after.

Will get a PS3 a year or so after launch when there are titles that I want for it

For now i would go for the 360 it has some great games and some real class ones very soon like gears of war
The price is very good and although the games cost more then last gen games most new 360 games can be had for £30-£35 online i dont think thats too bad really besides you can always rent games i do it saves me loads of cash

To me, and a few others I'm sure:

Generally the Wii shouldn't be directly compared to the 360 and PS3, in terms of graphical power anyway, as it's not that much more powerful that that Gamecube and can not output in High Definition.

What the Wii does have is an innovative control method that could become a benchmark in interactive entertainment. It could also be a huge gimmick to many people and that these people will become bored / annoyed at the control system and give up on the Wii. Personally I don't want the latter to happen, and hope the Wii has a long life with excellent games that'll attract people young and old. Sure it's not got the best graphics in the world, but these games are going to be there to have fun with.

I'm not going to go into mega detail on this, I've written enough about this subject regarding PS3 and Xbox 360 pricing, but:

If you want to compare the Xbox 360 and PS3 directly, you can't really directly compare the prices, unless you specifically know what you want from a console. If you do want a system that just plays games, then the 360 will be the better option financially, as you can have a HD gaming system off the shelf for ~£240 (including memory and HD cable), whereas in the UK PS3 we're still only due the 60GB version which will be nearly £200 more than the 360 if you just want it for gaming.

The 360 has the advantage of having less features, but can be built up to have a similar spec to the PS3 by buying the peripherals, whereas the PS3 you are pretty much forced to buy every feature, so Wi-Fi, Blu-Ray and HDD. If you want a system that can do all that, buying off the shelf the 360 will come to even more than the PS3, (£280 Premium + £60 Wi-Fi + £130 HD-DVD drive = £450, but that's at current market without any sort of bundle discount, but the PS3 could well have bundles to make it cheaper also).

We're still yet to find out Sony's final plans for their online system, so I can't directly compare the online services as yet, but Sony will have their work cut out for them if they want to have a services that beats Xbox Live.

No doubt whatever console you get, you're going to have a great gaming experience, but if you were to chose only one, which were to act as a home media centre, you're going to get caught up somewhat in the format war of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, and that can also sway somebody into buying either console, though I'd prefer to just have both to be safe.

Had an xbox 360 since launch day, its good, but still nothing jaw dropping games wise (sorry, i am gonna get flammed) best game is probably GRAW.

I honestly can't wait for the PS3, seriously not been this excited about a console in a while. Was excited for the 360, but the more videos i see of the PS3 the more i want it.

Wii i wont bother with for maybe a year or so, unless i fail to get a US PS3 by christmas and feel sorry for myself and want a toy lol

I can definately see me buying a 360 for this generation of consoles. The Wii doesn't interest me at all, and I can't really be bothered to wait until the PS3 is launched, and then for it to be in stock in places.

im definitely getting a wii the day it comes out. i think its ganna be awsome and even though the graphics wont be as good as the 360 or ps3 the idea and game play make up for it. wouldnt mind a 360 too but that can wait.

My 360 should be on its way very soon (freebie off phone contract) and I've some stuff already bought for it, very much looking forward to it.

I hopefully will have a Wii not too long after Christmas.

I'm not excited in the slightest about the PS3 but that's highly likely to change close to/just after release, and then I'll probably neeeeeed one like I do every console.

I will eventually own all three. I already own a 360, and have done since launch day.

The Wii and PS3 will come along eventually, but I doubt I'll be picking them up on release.

Own a 360 since 2nd Dec, might get a Wii but cant see myself playing it that much, abit of a gimmick to me.

PS3 I wont spend that much on a console with a poor line up of release games, I would rather spend the money on a LCD tv.

I will get one when they hit £200 say 2009 :p

You'll be loaded by then if you keep buying up all the hard drives to re-sell, you bummer!

:p

Yeah I will, Buy 2 XBox 360 and selling one for £530 paid for my 360, shame I couldnt get hold of any JAP/US PS3 and sell them over here.

I wasn't taken by the 360, until i saw Assasin's Creed on Gamer TV the other day.

This game looks sensational, and may find myself looking a bit more closely at the 360 when its released.

Wasn't impressed with Gears of War, looks run of the mill, and contols look annoying (too much duck & diving, seems to be the be all and end all of the game)

I was waiting on a PS3, but so much is putting me off, everyday theres another release with another problem. This blu-ray vs HD-DVD doesn't stand up well either, since a major film summit or other had decided HD-DVD is the way to go, and Sony have been known to flog dead formats, anyone remember the minidisc?

So what do i do? i dont know, however the Wi doesn't impress me, the contoller will make you look like a muppet and annoying the living hell out of most. My kid is too young for consoles, so its really not an option.

The 360 actually becomes more of a possibility everytime i think of which i want.

I'm not much of a console man anymore. I stopped getting consoles after I got my PC (PSone was the last one I bought).

I might get a Nintendo Wii next year when I get a better paying job, just something to much about with my friends, and hey, maybe the type of games my girlfriend will like aswell.

The games on the 360 I can play on my PC, but the Wii is different, in a good way.

i have a 360,, but have preorderd the Wii, just for sheer fun and the novelty of the controller, graphics, are great, but it will be nice to have a balance:)

No...like a mere few of you :p (j/k)

I really don't have any desire for the PS3 at all, the Wii I really canno't wait for. its going to be mind boggling :D and i already have a 360

I've had a 360 since launch. I wasnt initially going to buy a Wii as in my eyes it was too expensive for whats effectively a second console, that being said i eventially cracked and pre-ordered one. The PS3 at the moment i couldn't care less about, Sony has done absolutely nothing to make me sit up and take notice which is a shame since i really liked both my PS1 and PS2. I'll have another think about whether i want one nearer release and it will very much depend upon whether i've seen anything that tweaks my interest.
