tats due to low sales (but well keep that hush) anyways the ps3 none the less has had nothing majorly wrong with it while as you see mocosoft spending god knows how much on extending it to 3 years because of the unsatisfactory customers

If it was due to low sales then the failure rate would be less that a quantity not %.

A percentage is relative :p

maybe they should have had an external brick like the 360

the low sales in comparison to the 360 .... if the ps3 sold as many as that or the wii the numbers would be more real and then therefore more bragging rights would be won.....

Doesn't matter if you sell a thousand or a million, it is a percentage.

So for every 100 Xbox360's sold 30 will fail and for every 100 PS3's sold 1 will fail.

Have you seen the cooling inside a PS3? the inside is pretty much one big heatsink. When mine has been on for a few days folding if i touch the outer casing you can actually feel hotspots and cold spots on it. Wouldnt worry about it overheating tbh unless you have gaffa taped the vents closed "to stop dust getting in" like someone already posted ;)

not denying that im just saying youd get a better prospective the larger the number ..... and you dont know what the 1% is comparing to in how many xbox sales .... not denying the ps3 is amazing am a sony fanboy the point is you wont get a real idea until the ps3 sells as many as the 360 due to people will niggle at the fact of the numbers in comparison to each other whatever anyways point is ps3 is doin better in not dying = good thing

Is that really down to overheating though?? or just cheap mobo's??

360's where dying very quickly, the PS3 has been out for what 8-9 months now in the US.
The motherboard design is more than sufficient with one or two very minor cooling mods so I would assume a cooler running CPU would stop the issues.
