Well i've had my PS3 for a week now so i thought a little review was in order
Bought 60GB PS3 with Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Motorstorm, RFOM, 2 Blu Rays (Spiderman 3 and Fantastic 4) and Remote Controll at a total cost of £418.
I already have a 360 and high end HTPC plugged into the same 32" Hyundai A321 LCD TV as the PS3 will be.
Opening the PS3 reminded me of opening my Macbook, it oozed quality and right away you could tell it's in a different league to the 360 build wise. The styling also reminded me a little of an old bang and olufsen HiFi I used to have
It was pretty simple to setup and the XMB was familiar to me being a PSP owner . I thought it was great that Sony had included a web browser but i was disappointed by the Store and lack of anything beyond GT Demo worth downloading. The 360 dashboard and market place are far superior.
The games....
Heavenly sword - Good looking but ultimately an average game. I'll complete it and sell it on.
RFOM - Better than i expected but not in the same league as Gears of War or Halo 3 not to mention upcoming games like COD4. But this was a launch tittle and theres fun to be had.
Warhawk - Hmmm I've heard so many good reviews of this i thought it was going to be awesome! at best it's average, The graphics are more last gen than next gen and it just seems tedius to me. I really can,t see what all the fuss is about and will probably sell it.
Motorstorm - Now this is more like it, Great gameplay in single player, and multiplayer is a hoot! and the graphics are fantastic. This is by far my favourate game on the PS3.
Movies - The movies i got looked great but tbh i got them as part of the deal so will be selling them on. Blu Ray is good and all but at the moment i would rather buy the same £18 Blu Ray movie on DVD for £5 as there just isn't enough difference. Once your engrossed in a movie do you really notice the difference between DVD and Blue Ray? I don't!
Conclusion.
The PS3 as the potential to be a great console and finaly at the right price and the only thing stopping it is the lack of games. If i had to choose between PC, 360 and PS3 i would choose PC followed by 360. Because i don't have to i'll keep them all
