PS3 - Ad-hoc network???

I want to connect my PS3 to my laptop. I've created an ad-hoc network but it doesn't appear in the network list in the playstation home menu. Is it possible to connect as i want to stream videos from my laptop to the tv. 80gb model btw

do you not have a router?

In that case just open Media Player, click on Library, and then Media Sharing.

Can set the options up on that.

PS3 can't do ad-hoc networking.

Cheap wireless router would be the easiest solution, that would also allow the laptop to use wireless.

Annoying. I'm working abroad so my laptop is on a 3g card so I didn't bring a router. Grrr, another thing to lug over next time i'm back in the UK!

A router will not work with a 3G card.

Do you have access to a ADSL/Cable connection or is it 3G card only?

This Is why I didn't bring my router, no connection besides the 3g!
