PS3 Advice

I have a bit of spare cash this month so thought i would treat myself to another console. I have a Wii and 360 but quite fancy a bluray player and figured I could kill two birds with one stone and get a PS3.

I have a 27" Samsung HD TV but unfortunately it does not have HDMI. It does have a component connection (which I use with Wii).

So what is my best option to connect the PS3 to the TV? I am fully prepared to keep disconnecting the Wii, is the Sony Component cable the best to get or will the third party cable be ok?

I also have a spare DVI connection on the back of the TV, could I use this?

Use an HDMI --> DVI cable (like I do no my Dell display). Wont have to swap anything then

IS there a problem watching videos over HDMI --> DVI? I read something about some sort of lock in when watching films?

I forgot to ask about sound? DVI doesn't carry audio does it? I do have an amp but have no digital audio input, what are my options?
