Hey guys I have a pretty old surround sound system that only has room for a single RCA connector,

So what I have done is bought this cable

I have this coming from the official 360 HDMI audio output thing

And going into the back of my surround sound then I have the official PS3 composite cable plugged into my ps3 but only for audio as I use the HDMI slot for the image, and this plugs into the back of the cable in the first image

Now this works fine when both consoles are switched on, and it also works fine if one of the consoles is switched off at the wall but if I have 1 console on standby and try to play one there is no audio,

The only reason I bought this is because I am sick of changing cables every time I want to watch a blu-ray,

Is there any way to make it so that when one of the consoles is on silent it doesn't silence the other?

Thanks

If you google "audio phono switch", I think this will find something that will give you a better solution ?

Just effectively shorting two output together into one input is really not they way to do it..

I made the same mistake, is there one you can recommend? There seems to be a difference in price between them.
