To all those on the fence about buying a 3D projector, I bought one last Friday with Super Stardust HD, Motorstorm Apocalypse and Avatar Blu Ray, all in 3D. I Have to say I was never a fan of 3D on a tv and hated the 3DS but the extra screen size really adds to the immersion. Motorstorm is incredible as you can see way in to the distance and benefit from the depth of field. Stardust is incredibly beautiful and immersive with the depth of the galaxy around you and the pop out effect from the rocks/explosions. Cant wait to try a few more games soon.

Also it's no different to the 3D you see at the cinema, the cool thing is you can move anywhere in the room and you still get the effect. Highly recommended.

I get a great effect from my setup too, particularly Super Stardust, I guess with the space thing going on etc... very impressive for a cheap game. I couldn't be bothered playing Oblivion, for example, wearing glasses for 8 hours. Getting up to make a cuppa, taking glasses off, putting them on again.

Avatar looks better on my home setup then it did at the IMAX cinema I saw it in, however.

Still on the fence with 3D... once the glasses go it will take over, until then it will just wow you for a while. A nice option to have, but no way is it practical in its current form for long periods of gameplay(imagine the headache).

I agree about the glasses, I personally don't mind wearing them but feel that is what it will take to become mainstream.

what projector did you get ?

I already had an Optoma HD65 (£350 a couple of years ago) and luckily Optoma updated their firmware to facilitate for 3D. I paired it with the Optoma 3D-XL for £240 which included a pair of glasses. I've ordered another pair for £50 also.

All in all it has set me back £600 not bad for 150" of 3D goodness.
