Hello there !!

I have just been pondering something and wondered if anyone had an answer.

1) I live in the UK and have a UK credit card so buying stuff on PSN is not a problem.
2) I am going to emigrate to China shortly.
3) Now, I imagine I am not allowed to keep my UK bank account if I am not a resident of the UK anymore.
4) I suspect I cannot put Chinese credit card details into my UK account as the billing address will differ.
5) How can I buy stuff from the UK PSN from China ?

The only thing I can think of at the moment is to add £200 to my PSN wallet before I go... but I'd rather not.

Any help ?

Not all countries have PSN (PlayStation Store) access. It would not surprise me if China is such a country (for obvious reasons). I imagine you wold be best off keeping your UK account. I know Hong Kong has PSN so it is conceivable you could use that, but you may as well use a UK one as topping up a HK one will be just as much hassle.

Yeah I will be keeping my UK account, maybe I wasn't clear on that :)
But I imagine I cannot enter Chinese credit card details into a UK account as the billing adress will differ.

So I need a way of adding funds to my UK account while living in China.

What is this Entropay Soulja ?
A virtual Visa card ?
How would that work for me ?

Ah I get what you mean. The Entropay is a virtual visa card that can be used on services that normally only accept billing details from their own geographical location.

Simple explanation:

Soulja and I are both Uk users who have no USA credit cards, yet we are able to enter our virtual Visa card details in our USA PSN accounts, whereas adding our physical UK cards fails the address check etc.

I understand the principle I think :)
But for some reason I can't get my head around something.

When you sign up, you have to put a location in, so I guess YOU entered a USA location and just put a fake adress in (Bervely Hills 90210 or something)?
Then on the funding details page, you added actual and real details for your credit cards ?

Heheh ! :)

But what did you guys enter for the Identification Document section when it obviously would need a USA Passport number/Social Security number/Driving licence number or government ID number ?

ON ENTROPAY DO NOT ENTER ANY FAKE DETAILS.

:/

So what did you put in that section since you must have entered a USA adress but you are not a USA citizen ?

Entropay is for UK citizens.

Sign up like you would for a normal legit service (ie all real details).

You will be given a virtual VISA card and that will give a u a long credit card number, cvv code, expiry date etc that you just put in your PSn account.

The fake address Soulja mentioned, is when we created the USA PSN accounts. This has no bearing in the entropay accounts we have, the same way your UK address details in PSN will have no bearing on your Entropay details. NORMALLY Your credit card address and the account on your PSN (whichever country) must match up, with Entropay they don't need to.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!
I see :)

So I guess I should sign up for Entropay while I still have legitimate UK details to enter ;)
I might have a crack now and see if I can enter it into my USA account as I am unable to buy stuff on there at the mo !!

Cheers

Yes, seems like a reasonable plan :) It is unlikely, but they may question your application which means u have to scan/fax them some UK docs like passport or drivers license copies. (Happened to me when I first used them a couple of years back, but most people don't get asked these days).

GITS :(
I have to send them some documents !!!
Gahhhh !!

Actually, when signing up, you get to choose from a MASSIVE list of countries. Are you sure its just for UK people ?

It's not, I just meant in your case, tell the truth as it affects what documents the next screen asks you for :)

Scan your driver's license and get ready to email that on Monday? You are the only person I know (and I have literally recommended Entropay to about 20-30 ppl!!) that has been asked for ID, apart from Me :)
