Hi, I've started folding again after a 6 month absence, and I was wondering...

Can you add a PS3 to FahMon? I'm already 99.9% sure you can't, but I was just wondering if anyone has found away to do it.

Thanks :D

Nope.

The PS3 folding client and OS are a pretty closed system so it isn't easy to poke around and get what you want from it over a network. :)

Yeah as far as I know you can't access the SPEs under Linux (you couldn't when I last checked) and even if you could there is no optimized client so you'd be running the equivalent of an old PowerMac or something daft like that.

PS3 client is probably the most efficient and stable of all clients because of the fixed platform and hardware.

You get roughly 800-1000 PPD. Mine folds like this whenever im not playing on it.
The advanced flag means sometimes you get a WU that takes a day or 2 to complete as opposed to the 3-4 hour ones.

Glad to be back! :) I've only recently returned back from uni, so not all my machines are set up again yet. But give it a week or so and hopefully I'll have a few more ppd than just the PS3.

Yeah I fold on mine occasionally, what I meant was if you booted into Linux and ran the Linux client the OS only has access to the PowerPC core which is normally used as a scheduler for the SPEs so your PPD would be minimal (not to mention a waste of power, in both senses of the word) :)
