I am a sad Panda.
Had my PS3 Slim 160 GB for just over a month, my little brother went to play uncharted today and its Artifacting - stuck in CoD WAW and its doing the same. Have checked all of the wires ect are in firmly, have reset the Playstation and it has made no difference. Turned it off now and am going to try again in half hour, can't see it making no difference as it started from a Cold Boot originally.

Going to return it to ASDA Living tomorrow, hopefully I'll get a replacement on the spot.

Is there anyway to save my save games, trophies ect?

If it turns on you can copy your saves to a memory stick. Sync your trophies and you should be ok.

I'd be surprised if they kicked up a fuss if it's only a month old.

cheers, for some reason I cannot backup my Killzone 2 data, which I have recently completed - says its locked any way around it?

Should get a replacement no problem. My PS3 Slim was a month old and it started to make a clicking noise after around hour an hour (I might have accidentally punched it :p) and GAME gave me a replacement no questions asked.

You could try taking the HDD out and connecting it your PC and retrieving it that way. You could also ask in store when you get a replacement if you can swap your old HDD into the new PS3, don't see why they wouldn't let you.

Connecting to a PC will not work, swapping the drive to a new PS3 will not work, you might be able to copy the KZ data if you do a full backup instead of just copying the savefile.

Maybe the HDMI cable is broken?
Hadn't thought of that, ah well.
Went into today and they swapped it for a new one like for like, no questions asked, Unlike a certain Purple games outlet that conducted a Gestapo investigation (understandable) before they replaced my Xbox. Quite impressed actaually, in and out in 3 minutes.
Lost the Killzone data unfortunately, I just don't understand why a saved gamed is "locked"
New PS3 is up and running all fine, so looks like it wasn't the HDMI cable anyway :)

Wonder how the Xbox manages it. It's not easy to hack gamerscore, I think you still need a J-Tag to do so. And you can always move saves, not always copy them though.

I think with XBOX the GS is tracked and any irregularity is spottable and you are set to 0, not sure on this with the PS3 though if they track irregularities such as getting all trophies with-in a matter of seconds.
