So im getting an LCD screen(no audio) with HDMI in and am wondering what is the best way to get audio out of my ps3 to my PC.

Sadly I don't have Optical in on my pc. Get a Card, which?

Asus do the xonar Dx2 range that has digital, however why are you pumping the sound back into your PC? What PC speakers do you have?

you can use the multi AV cable that came with the PS3 and use the RCA jacks Red /White to connect to a 3.5mm jack on a set of PC speakers...

Oh, Asus do have a HDMI card that you can actually use to accept the HDMI signal and this will handle both video and audio but a bit pricey for a bit of console gaming, unless you want DTS media playback, but might as well use your PC direct for that..

I know some games have DTS support etc... Depends on how much want to have feature wise and want to spend.

Oh so you can use the audio from the RCA and video from HDMI. I didn't know that. I have all the cables I need to hook that up already.

I do have 5.1 speakers but I don't want to shell out loads for a sound card just for ps3.

Im looking at getting 5.1 Headset for my pc.|These maybe|

It would be great if I could use the headset on the ps3 and pc and get 5.1 audio from both.

Thanks for the link Jamesbcd. Although I believe the cables shown are the wrong ones.
