I am going to be getting a PS3 in the next few weeks and I have a few worrys about how to connect it to my TV. I have a Philips 26PF4310/10 HD Ready TV which only has a DVI-I connector and a 3.5mm audio jack, will I be able to use a HDMI-DVI cable such as the Profigold PGV1102 for the video? This has a DVI-D end on it but according to other sites it should work! Next up is the audio, I have heard rumours you can use the A/V Multiport on the PS3 for audio and the HDMI port for video at the same time, can I use the supplied AV cable and get a 2x Phono to 3.5mm Jack adapter to plug into the 3.5mm jack on the back of my TV?

That is all for now chaps, all help is appreciated! I hope I don't have to get a sound system with a digital input!

PS. I have used the Search function and didn't turn up any decent results!

Unfortantly, you cant use DVI-I as its an analogue signal and HDMI is digital, so only DVI-D will work. You can buy an analogue to digital converter box that uses Component output for the PS3, though they are around 40quid.

First off, thanks for confirming I can use the Multi-out and HDMI :) Next thing is regarding the DVI-I and DVI-D - Apparently, if you have a DVI-I port it will accept Analog and Digital signals (Linky: http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/DVI_info.html) so long as you use a DVI-D cable to carry the digital signals. As a side note I have used an XBox 360 on this screen, would the signal not have been digital on that?

If someone could clarify this for me that would be great :)

Thanks,

Craig
