PS3 blue screen of death maybe? any1 had this problem?

Just this minute was playing cod4. hit the middle button to quit game to take to normal screen if no disc is in(sorry forgot what its called). then i put in pes 2008. blue screen with umpteen different languages came up along the lines of "system error could not read, press x to restore default setting"

anyone got a clue what its on?

always thought there was something dodgy bout this ps3 as on the 2nd day i owned it, when turned on it would just show the black screen. after an hour or so of turning on and off and other different things it was working,.

Never had a blue screen or that problem. I think I had a disc error once but that's because I had fingerprints all over it, the only thing I can think of is just make sure the discs are clean :S

tried it also without a disc and same problem/
think i will be taking it back me thinks

Looks like the harddisk/OS is messed up.

I did get a mesage at boot once that something had to be rebuilt but after a reboot when it finished it worked fine.

occasionally it will flash and it will beep at me a few times... switching it off and on sorts it

surely you should take it back if its flashing and beeping mate?

here is a pick i just took with no disk in. started it up again, ob didnt leave it on

They've corrupted the OS so just like an MS BSOD, no one (not even MS themselves) can work out what it means

haha. well its not even bringing the blue screen up now. just blank black screen. will be taking it back tomos. glad i still have my receipt. its a 60gig model tho....... and i know they wont have any in stock. im sure i saw a place that said they had a new shipment of 60 gig models back in stock but forgot who,,,,,,,,,,,,

whoops i mean just beeping at me. Did it when i put Uncharted in the dvd drive. No flashing. I dont generally pay attention to when it does this because i just switch it off n on. Next time it happens ill pay more attention.

My first PS3 would show a blank screen sometimes on boot. Never did manage to get to the bottom of it. Eventually I called Sony and got it replaced just in time for COD4 to arrive.

Sorry I'm not much help - Sony PS3 support didn't know what it was either - just offered to swap it out for me.
