I got street fighter a week or so ago and I've just unlocked all of the characters. I've got two sign-ins on my PS3 and I was hoping both of them could use the same save data for Sf4.

Is this possible?

Cheers,

G

It depends on the game - if you press triangle on the save file it will tell you if its copy protected or not. If it's not you can copy it to other accounts on the machine or to an external device.

With most games yes, but i think SF4 is protected so it won't work.

If i'm wrong, put a data stick into your PS3 (formatted to FAT32) and go to the same game folder. Find the savegame, press triangle and select copy. If i'm right it'll tell you to bugger off, if not it'll copy to the data stick. Then you can switch account and copy it back.

Tbh if it doesn't work it's possible to unlock all characters in an hour anyway.

It took me ages to unlock Gouken and Seth! lol

I'm probably being incredibly dumb, but I'm new to PS3 and I don't know where the save files are :o I've got an external HDD plugged in that formatted fat32 though :)

If I put my PS3 hdd in a caddy and plugged it into my PC would I be able to move the files even if the PS3 won't let me?

Thanks :)

The save folder is above the trophy section, there's two folders one for game data and one for savegames. The PS3 uses its own proprietary harddrive format, i doubt a PC would be able to read it.

Your only option if it is protected as i say is to unlock them on the new account. The best tip i can give for that is set it to easiest, 1 round and complete the game with the relevant characters. When it comes to unlocking akuma/gouken simply select Ryu and only use fireballs, on easiest the enemy are so dumb they'll just walk into them and that'll net you the perfects + first attacks you need. Then to get the ultra finishes do the same but when they're low on health get close and let them beat you up a bit, when the ultra guage is filled back off and ultra, again they'll just walk into it.

Took me less than an hour to unlock everyone apart from Seth.

I don't see why not I copied all my save files to my mates PS3 so we could carry our co-op where we left off.

Also i changed my PS3 and managed to copy all my saves from one to another even with a different login name. I have never tried it with SF4 tho.

As i said above mjer i believe SF4 savegames are protected from copying. This is largely to do with the fact that battle points and grade points are held within the savegame so it would mess up the online ranking system.
