PS3 Connecting VGA / DVI

Search isn't available so apologies if this has been covered a few times.

My new HDTV turned up and is faulty and I've already got rid of my old set in my bedroom so I wondered why I'm waiting can I attach my ps3 to my monitor via either VGA or DVI I have a V7 22" monitor if this helps?
