PS3 Downloads always slow?

Anyone else s PS3 stuff download really slow for some reason?

Its not that im on a crappy connection either...its always been slow downloading anything large on the PS3.

On the PC i can download large files (4gb+) very quickly.

Is the PS3,s ethernet connection unable to cope with such fast speeds?

ps3 downloads are slow for me too both on cable and wifi, 100mb VM connection here as well

never really noticed, always thought the bottleneck was the install time rather than speed of download, especially with large files.

No, it's more to do with the fact you're on Virgin. Some weird issues with them that cause a lot of people to suffer from poor download speeds on the PS3.

I downloaded dc universe at good speed but anything psn store downloads slow work that one out.

Is it just a superhub problem or is it the same when you all use third party cable routers?

Pretty slow on my Infinity connection also.

Just figured the PS3 was useless at this sort of thing and allowed longer for downloads.

Incredibly slow on Sky too. As above, I've kind of given up trying to sort it out and learned to put up with it.

I'm on Virgin and I get decent speeds from PSN. Took me about an hour to download RE5 the other day.

Have you tried putting the PS3 into the superhub's DMZ?

I've always found PS3 downloads to be slow no matter which ISP provider I was with.

This is pretty much it, the problem is PSN not your setups.

I've got 100Mb Virgin too, I haven't downlaoded anything on my PS3 for ages, but I've noticed recently Sky On Demand takes stupid amounts of time to download.

No, PS3 maxes out my "paltry" 14Mb connection. I'm with a decent ISP - Be.

I used to be with Be so many fond memories of extra Mb's being pumped down my line.

Was gonna wait it out for their fibre but it got delayed. Rest assured when it's up and running virgin can kiss my arse!

I guess it depends what you class as slow. I'm only on a 5MB connection and I get around 700KB/s which for my connection is fine.
