PS3 DVD Playback Crap?

Hi.

Was trying to play a DVD on the PS3, oceans 13 or something, the quality was extreamly crap compared to on the normal DVD Player, any ideas?

whats up with it specifically? grainy or blocky? artifacts? have you tried other films?

Stop downloading pirate movies.

Or, make sure your resolution is set properly and you have upscaling on.

The PS3 has been shown to be excellent with DVD playback as well as with Blu Rays.

Same here very impressed with the upscaling set to normal so 1080p

Its also much faster at loading discs etc than my old samsung dvd player.

Even on my SD CRT TV my PS3 is better than both my stand alone DVD player and PS2 at DVDs. I'd guess your settings are broken somewhere!

Mine was awful on my monitor via HDMI so switched to DVI and now its great
