PS3 & ext Hard Drive (USB/LAN?)

So i have a ps3 i want to be able to add more space to it. Can you do this with external hard drives USB and ethernet LAN external HDD's? also, if i had a external hdd with Ethernet and i put a lot of my PC movie/music files on it can the PS3 stream these over lan connection straight from external hdd (im thinking Westy Digital Mybook World job).

I've been looking at the Maxtor network drives. I don't know whether the Western Dgital ones are DLNA compliant?

I would go for a nas solution personally - rather than mybook , but its up to you. I havent checked whether either is compatable though
