Hello all,

I have a choice of two different places to pre-order my PS3. One offers extended warranty (£35 for 3 years inc accidental damage) and the other store doesn't.

Do you think I'll need extended warranty?

Shop One
PS3 + two games + warranty = £540

Shop Two
PS3 + one game + free blu-ray movie (X-Men 3) = £460

What do you reckon?

It's a shame Shop two doesn't do extended warranty. I only really wanted Resistance but I've had to go with Motorstorm too because you need to get the two game bundle. Plus Shop two gives a free blu-ray movie. That would make my collection up to two :P

hey Kemik

Don't suppose you could email me those shops, I've got my preorder with probably the biggest games retailer, but when I went in yesterday they still didnt know about any of the bundles they were doing

So was wondering if any of those bundles you listed were with the place I'm with

EDIT - just noticed you cant access the Trust panel yet to get my email, never mind :( But the biggest games retailer? Surely able to tell from that :p

You cant go to wrong tho with having Resistance and Motorstorm as they are the best launch games for the system :D

Four letters. I pre-ordered yesterday. All the shops seem to be changing what they offer as the days go past.

They had COD3, Resistance, Motorstorm, and three others (forgot the names). It was either COD3 or Motorstorm for me. I was defiantly getting RFOM

Ok same place then, hmmm will give them a ring in a bit, would like to know roughly how much I'm spending before the day lol

£540 is a bit much, but then I spose the £50 deposit takes it down to just under 500 which is roughly what I'm expecting

Have a look at the popular Jersey based online retailer for PS3 bundles, they do some good value ones imo, well as good as any other I have seen anyway.

Like this + Sony Playstation 3 PS3 Console With 60GB HDD & 3 Games (MotorStorm / Genji / Resistance: Fall of Man) + FREE HDMI cable + Click (Blu-Ray) + for £524.99.

Get fair bit for that money, although personally I think the PS3 is too expensive atm but thats personal opinion.

Personally I wouldn't go for extended warranties as I would just use the Sale of Goods act to get the desired result, but if you can't be bothered with the hassle then £35 is good value for the extended warranty imo. :)

I wont bother to be honest, I'll get the standard 1 year Sony offer, then if it looks like its the same case with the 360, I'm sure Sony will offer their own form of extended warranty and I'll get that

Yeah I think I'll do the same as Steedie and hope Sony offer an extended warranty. Only gib there is that you'd have to wait a few days as there isn't a store you can just walk in to.

As for the Jersy retailer, I don't want Genji or Motorstorm (sort of) that much and Click sucks :P

Wouldn't worry. They pricematch any other place local anyway so just demand your free copy of Xmen or say you'll walk round the corner and get it from there! £15 in vouchers is about the same though (towards a game or extra controller?).

Dont think it will be as cheap as £35 though. Im going to take it because what is another £35 if im spending like £600 allready. Might just buy a few games then buy some on line to save me bit of money.
