if the firmware is upgraded is it simply done on the hard drive or is it like flashing your motherboard and its there forever?

Yup! In the future though im sure there will be a devhook style programme enabling you to run two different firmwares.

thank god they are going to use a full size keyboard for messaging etc. That bloody mobile phone style keyboard was getting right on my thrupenny bits!
