PS3 Firmware v3.55 is out

Meh, I'll start ours off updating - might want to use it sometime before Christmas.

Ugh, I assume this will become more frequent now that the hackers are getting past them after a short period. It's a good thing I've got ps+, the update will dl while I'm at work and be ready to install tonight when I get in.

me too always thought it would be a good idea to have new features incorporated into the new fw but it looks like sony are more bothered about taking on the hackers .
I think they should take a note out of the 360,s book and do a ban wave every year to boost console sales :D

I think you're right. It's nothing short of disgraceful though. They've now got a sizeable share of the market and had the guts of 4 years to work on it and still nothing. How somebody's butt is not kicked in the development department I'll never know.

As yet they still cant get past 3.5 and 3.55 has removed the ability to downgrade.

In addition a bunch of people are finding that downgrading and then upgrading again is causing a loss of bluray playback.
