Same, my 40Gb is very quiet and i can hear the fans going up a level after a few hours on it, but its still whisper quiet when it does and this is with TV sound off. Mine is under a coffee table on top of my Sky+ box (its off when the PS3 is on and vice versa).
Common sense tells me this is not a great idea to begin with but im limited on space and will be doing this myself. Any major problems?

What he's said against it is stuff I generally mention quite commonly. That's all.. He said he'd listened to people who love the PS3 and he found stuff a different way. I find a lot of PS3 opinions on here clouded in bias rather than honesty, that's all.
