PS3 flashing lights

Sometimes when my PS3 is switched off and I press the eject button it comes on briefly and then the light constantly flashes red and doesn't eject the disc. Is there something wrong with it? Its a slim 250gb model.

That could be overheating, either real overheating or faulty hardware.
Have a good look at the light before it starts to flash red, is it yellow for a split second?

If so you could have YLOD

get this too but ive seen the quick flash of yellow, i thought it had fixed itself the other day but it crashed again.

think i will get a slim next month

Spoke to that other game store and they've said to bring it. I'll probably exchange it for a brand new one and pay the difference. Only had it for less then a month.

Seems to be intermittent as today its hasn't done it. But it has happened to me 3 or 4 times. Thing is they will check it and if doesn't do it I assume they won't do anything.
