PS3 Game Install Data (GT5)

I'm having a problem tonight with GT5, it won't load properly and just stays on the loading screen forever.

Can I delete my Install Data for the game and re-install it from the disc without messing up my Save games and progress ?

mmmm after leaving it for what must have been 15 minutes it finally loaded, above question still stands unless it could be something else ?

Deleting the game data won't effect your save files. I've had to delete mine once because the 1.05 patch corrupted it.

Been fine ever since, with the patches installed.

Your save data will be OK but you would lose things that you've created but not exported to XMB (tracks, photos, replays etc).

you can save your game save to a USB stick or something to back it up and make extra sure...

Instead of deleating it try the following

got to the Options Sceen then down to the bottom,

Select Utilities

As a first option select salvage files

if that wont work,

you could try selecting Delete files, reboot, and the select pre-install.
