PS3 Game Saves/Backup Console?

I currently have a 160Gb HDD in my PS3 and i am replacing with a 400Gb as i have a lot of video files etc that i would rather keep on the PS3 as it saves streaming from PS3 Media Server.

Now the question is: A friend of mine has told me that some games will not let you backup the save when you do a console backup Like RE5 and KZ2. Is this correct? Thats a real pain if it is as i have completed both of them and wanted to do some of the extra stuff on RE5.

I will be plugging in my Ext drive to do the backup the same way as i did when installed the 160Gb.

If you use an external drive for a backup using the PS3 backup utility I am 99% sure it backs up everything.

A manual backup of the game save is not possible for some games (RE5 is possible now after the 1.3 update)

It is a good idea to make a full backup and also a manual backup of the savegames just in case.

Trophies are backed up to a server so they are automatically restored.
