PS3 Guitar Hero Controller Annoyance

Alright, I only got my PS3 a few days ago, so bear with me if I'm missing something blindingly obvious.

Every time I connect the guitar for GHWT it defaults to controller 7, which means I have to reassign it to controller 2 before GH recognises it.

Is there any way I can permanantly set it to 2, or do I have to reassign it each time I want to play?

Have you got the latest XMB update? There were a few Accessory fixes in this.

This happens to me too but it's that bad since it only takes a second.

I've got the latest firmware (2.80) if that's what you mean?

This was a change they made in the latest firmware - when the guitar dongle is plugged (either before or after you turn the system on) it defaults to controller 7.

Personally it's not been a problem for me as the guitar always gets automatically reassigned to the lowest available controller number when I start up Rock Band 2 (and then set back to 7 after quiting back to the XMB). I assume this was the system making the change but perhaps it's RB2 if it doesn't happen for you in GHWT.

Just done a bit of Googling and it seems it is indeed a bug with the latest firmware. :/

happens to me in rock band too (with gh guitar), tis annoying.. but only takes a few seconds to change
