Im having problems with the controller - when using the buttons in the menu systems for the game they seem to work fine. However, when trying to play the game they don't work. If i press the green button the orange occasionally lights up - the stum doesn't work either.
The controller was working fine when i left it last night - i've tried reinstalling the game data and tried reconnecting the controller via the wireless link - all have no effect.

Any ideas?

Yeah,

I've tried new batteries - what I don't understand is how the buttons work in the menu screens and not in the game itself, are the buttons re-mapped for the game itself?

Is there anyway that this could be a software error?

They are some fixes for this, mine was like yours (not as bad though from what you say) but I youtubed a few Guitar Hero fixes, followed the step by step videos and my guitar works flawless now.

FYI some fixes do require you to actually open the guitar up. But they are really straight forward.

controller hasnt been knocked or dropped overnight has it? try taking the neck out and cleaning the connectors. how long have you had it? maybe take it back and get a replacement

other than that Im out of ideas sorry. dont think it could be software related as it was working fine the night before
