PS3 hard drive full up with nothing??

I have a 120GB HDD in my PS3 - I have deleted all media and old demos just leaving a few recent demos / games and the system shows as having 39GB free off 111GB. There cant possibly be 70GB of anything left so any ideas what is using up all the space? Is there some sort of cache some where?

Do you have HOME installed? it doesn't use that much space but a fair bit if I remember.

Do you use PlayStation Home, or have a lot of games with their optional installs...uhh...installed?

Home only has about 3GB so its not that.

The first game I installed on the HDD was everybody's golf. It is just over 6GB. Most games seem to be much smaller than this but there's probably games that are bigger. Maybe you just have 4-5 big game installs on there as well as anything else. It shows you each game install size in game data I think.

yeah I was going to say its no doubt the installed game data that is taking up all your space, I had the same problem as you wondering where all my data was going glad you found it
