I was looking for a thread on this but couldnt find one so im just informing people that you can upgrade the hard drive on your ps3 if you're struggling for space.

If you google "ps3 hard drive upgrade" there are a few guides that show you how. Its very easy i did it with mine a few months ago and its great! All you need is a 5400rpm SATA notebook hard drive, doesnt have to match the one you take out either it can be any brand!

Again sorry if you all already knew this but i just thought id educate those who arent in the know :)

Cheers

Theres no need to try and get your post count up that quick!

I think this is already included in the ps3 faq.

The drive has to be 9.5mm high, not 12.5mm high as that will not work and there are people that have a 7200rpm notebook drive working.

Im using a 250g Seagate momentus 7200.3 in my ps3. works a treat. (Replacing 60gb Seagate momentus 5400.2).

Only issue was the damn screws, soft and overtightened. Had to undo with a pair of pliars (which is easier then being careful with a screw driver)

I had to use a small saw to get one of the screws out, they are way too tight, I even had a perfect fitting screwdriver.
