PS3 has stopped reading disk?

Hi,
My PS3 has stopped reading disks. When I put in a blu-ray/DVD or a cd it does not recognise that there is a disk in the drive. At the moment I am trying to "restore default settings"

If that does not work-does anyone have a phone number for Sony?

ring them up, mine did that withing 1st month of owning it. Known fault I believe

If its out of warranty then you can do it yourseld for about £50 for a BD drive kit or maybe find a cheaper way to get it done.

Thanks for all the replies. I bough the PS3 on the 11th January 2008. How long does the warranty last? Will it be out of warranty?

Warranty is 1yr i'm afraid. As stated above there are several solutions to your problem.

Phoned Sony this morning. They said if I send them a copy of the receipt they will fix the PS3 for free as a good will gesture
