PS3 HD Upgrade

OK just got me a 40gig PS3

Got a 320gig 2.5 SATA drive on the way,

I upgraded my mate but couldnt backup all his saves and stuff as i only got a 4gig usb flash drive. This was even after deleting evrything except GT5 data

Before i get heavily into GT5 Prologue should i wait until i recieve the HD and upgrade straight away or was i trying to backup the data the wrong way.

Did you try using the backup utility? or just copying the files one by one?

If you've only got a few files, you're better of just using the single file transfer rather than the entire backup process.

I just did this myself, I only had a 4 Gb memory stick but the backup wanted 10Gb+ so I just copied all my save games to the memory stick which was only a couple of Mb for the lot and then swapped hard drives. All I did then was copy the save games back and reinstall my games and all worked fine.

One thing, when I put my 320 Gb drive in it came up with an error saying firmware needs to be 2.41 or higher so I had to go to PS website and download the firmware to memory stick and run it from there and it all worked fine.
